Aston Villa 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur

Aston Villa fell to a cruel last-gasp 3-2 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur as Heung-Min Son scored a 94th-minute winner.

Dean Smith's side looked to have claimed a well-deserved point from a breathless Premier League encounter at Villa Park but Son settled matters deep into injury time.

Villa flew out of the blocks and took an early lead courtesy of Toby Alderweireld's ninth-minute own goal.

Yet, for all the home side's pressure, Alderweireld levelled at the other end just before the half-hour mark.

And it was the visitors who went on to claim a half-time advantage when Son followed up quickest having seen his penalty saved by the superb Pepe Reina after the involvement of VAR in awarding the spot-kick.

Bjorn Engels headed Villa back on level terms in the 53rd minute and it remained all square thanks to the heroics of Reina between the sticks.

Yet Son pounced in added time to bag a winner with virtually the last kick of a dramatic clash.
